Japan Posts 3 Percent Rise in September Services Producer Prices

(MENAFN) Japan's services producer prices jumped 3 percent year-over-year in September, extending an unbroken growth streak to 55 consecutive months, official statistics revealed Monday.

The services producer price index, which tracks costs of services delivered by businesses to corporate clients and government agencies, quickened from August's 2.7 percent increase, Bank of Japan data demonstrated.

Among 146 surveyed categories, prices climbed for 114 items while falling for 18, the figures indicated.

Accommodation service costs soared 11.1 percent, fueled by heightened demand preceding the Oct. 13 conclusion of the Osaka Expo 2025.

Concurrently, domestic air passenger transportation services experienced robust demand, with fees advancing 6.8 percent.
